Women in Jazz Online
An understanding of jazz would not be complete without highlighting the influence and contributions of women. Lecturer and master flutist Galen Abdur-Razzaq will discuss how women have been involved in jazz since the early 1920s, not just as vocalists, but as instrumentalists, composers and arrangers. Abdur-Razzaq will provide an understanding particularly of these women's personal lives and their ability to persevere in the world of jazz.
