Kindness Rock Painting

Kindness Rock Painting In-Person

March 20th was “Won't You Be My Neighbor Day,” a day to celebrate kindness.   join Miss Jen in painting rocks with caring messages and pictures depicting kindness.  You can keep them, give them as gifts, or place them around your neighborhood to bring smiles to others’ faces.

The holiday is celebrated on Fred Rogers’ birthday.  Mr. Rogers was the creator of the long-running children's tv show, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood (1968 to 2001), which focused on kindness, on seeing the joys in ordinary things, and on giving kids a sense of being valued.  This show is also where Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood got its start. (Daniel's dad is the tiger puppet from Mister Rogers' Neighborhood!)  The day is meant to encourage people to perform random acts of kindness and gratitude to their neighbors and anyone they cross paths with.

We will be using acrylic paint (permanent).  Please dress appropriately. For ages 6-11. Sponsored by the Friends of the West Windsor Library.
