Get Lit: Lavender House by Lev A.C. Rosen

Get Lit: Lavender House by Lev A.C. Rosen In-Person

Exploring what it was like to be queer when it was a crime, Lavender House is a perfect read for the start of Pride Month. Set in 1952, it follows recently unemployed policeman Evander (Andy) Mills as he investigates the mysterious death of soap heiress Irene Lamontaine at her estate—Lavender House. The catch? The estate is a safe haven for its queer residents. Andy, outed and ousted after a police raid on a gay bar, must navigate secrecy and the illusion of freedom to catch a killer. Library staff member Emily will lead the discussion. Suggested age range for this book club: 18-29.
