Juneteenth Transcription Event

Juneteenth Transcription Event In-Person

Bring your laptop and learn how to transcribe historical documents for Freedom on the Move, a crowdsource database of fugitives from North American slavery.

Early newspapers printed “runaway ads” by enslavers trying to capture those whom they considered their property.  Digitizing these advertisements helps genealogists, historians, educators, students, and others to gain access to the stories of those seeking their freedom.

Light refreshments will be served.

Registration is requested.
