Nazi Youth Camps in America In-Person
During Holocaust Remembrance Month, please join Barbara Krasner, Director of the Mercer County Holocaust, Genocide & Human Rights Education Center, for a compelling program on the little-known rise of German-American Bund youth camps in the 1930s and early 1940s, including New Jersey’s Camp Nordland. Drawing on primary sources and government records, she explores how these camps spread Nazi ideology in the United States—and how local communities resisted. Krasner also connects this history to her Newark family’s immigrant experience, offering a powerful reflection on vigilance, extremism, and the importance of remembrance.
Advanced registration is appreciated.
