Service Sundays: Citizen Science In-Person

On Service Sundays, we do a family service project each 3rd Sunday of the month at 2:00.  This month, it’s April—Citizen Science Month!  So we will be learning a little bit about Citizen Science, where regular people can help make observations and do experiments to contribute data to big scientific projects.    Today, we’ll learn about GLOBE Observer’s Mosquito Habitat Mapper program.  We’ll learn to identify possible mosquito habitats by playing a fun bingo game; see what mosquitoes at different stages look like under a magnifying glass; and learn how to submit data from our observations to the project.  Also, please bring your ideas for future service projects!  For all ages.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Lawrence Branch.

Registration is required prior to the event. Please complete one registration form per child. If you register and cannot make it, please phone so someone else can have your slot.
