Big STEAMers: Plant Power: Growing Green Scientists! In-Person

Join our exciting, 1-hour program for kids ages 6–11!  Big STEAMers is a program that focuses on the five areas of STEAM; science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, all geared toward elementary-aged kids.  Get ready to experiment, explore, and make some surprising discoveries at the Mercer County Library’s West Windsor Branch.  This week's topic: Plant Power: Growing Green Scientists!

Budding botanists ages 6–11 will dig into the amazing world of plants as they explore roots, stems, leaves, and seeds through hands‑on STEAM activities. Kids will discover how seeds sprout and what plants need to thrive, then build their own mini greenhouse complete with a seed they can nurture and later plant in their home garden. A perfect blend of science, creativity, and real‑world growing fun.  Sponsored by the Friends of the West Windsor Library.

Registration is required prior to the event. Walk-ins are welcome as long as space and supplies are available. We recommend that you arrive 5 minutes before the program starts. If you have not arrived by the start of the program, we may give your spot to someone who is waiting. We may not be able to accommodate late arrivals. Please cancel if you are unable to attend so that your spot may be given to another.  We appreciate your cooperation so we may offer a smoother flow of activities to the entire group.
