MCLS Book Festival - Cartooning Lessons In-Person
Graphic novelist Mike Dawson, author of The Hidden Dominion of Geordie James, The Fifth Quarter, and Freddie and Me, will show you how to create your own comic book. Warm up with doodles, create your own characters, and learn how words and pictures work together to tell a story. Participants will also write and draw short comics using techniques they can continue to explore at home. Each participant will receive an exclusive workbook filled with drawing and cartooning exercises. At the end of the workshop, participants will have created their own comic book to take home and share with friends and family! Recommended for ages 8 and older. Space is limited; registration is required.
