Join our exciting, 1-hour program for kids ages 6–11!  Big STEAMers is a program that focuses on the five areas of STEAM; science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, all geared toward elementary-aged kids.  Get ready to experiment, explore, and make some surprising discoveries at the Mercer County Library’s West Windsor Branch.  This week's topic: Magnets! 

For our Magnetic Builders Lab, kids will dive into the science of magnets as they test, build, and explore with our giant magnetic tiles.  Young experimenters will investigate magnetic strength by seeing how many paperclips their magnets can lift, then discover how north and south poles attract and repel.  After hands-on testing, kids will use what they've learned to engineer creative magnetic structures and tile builds.  It's STEAM learning packed with discovery, building, and magnetic fun.

Registration is required prior to the event. Walk-ins are welcome as long as space and supplies are available. We recommend that you arrive 5 minutes before the program starts. If you have not arrived by the start of the program, we may give your spot to someone who is waiting. We may not be able to accommodate late arrivals. Please cancel if you are unable to attend so that your spot may be given to another.  We appreciate your cooperation so we may offer a smoother flow of activities to the entire group.
