 joke-telling\, this reading group considers three pieces each month: a 
 short story\, a poem\, and an essay\, all connected by a theme. Join us to 
 be introduced to new authors\, new forms\, and new ideas. This month's 
 theme is "Birds." The story is “The Great Silence” by Ted Chiang\; the 
 essay\, “Nests” by Helen Macdonald\; and the poem\, “Walking Like a 
 Robin” by Bernadette Mayer. Download a pdf of the readings here. You can
